Please note that the February 15th meeting of the Union Township Advisory Board will be held at Indianapolis Executive Airport (Terry Airport), at 7 PM, and not at our regular location of Union Elementary School.
In addition to regular agenda items, we plan on having a though update on the construction of the fire station, fire protection in general, and where we are, to the best of my knowledge, financially.
With regard to fire protection, I have heard it said that myself and some members of the board are against a fire station and fire and emergency protection for the township. Let me simply state, that is neither factual or true.
My concern, and I believe others, is that with our current finances, we cannot afford a fire station nearly the same size as Zionsville’s main station – not even considering any equipment or staffing.
