It was reported awhile back that Union Township was delinquent in paying some $67,000+ for fire protection in 2006. This figure was based on paying 64% of the total fire protection BUDGET for Union Township, Worth Township and Whitestown.
Most businesses/households have budgets. Sometimes we meet our projected budget but most times income and expenses vary a bit. In reviewing the ACTUAL EXPENSES for 2006 and Union Township’s fair share as defined in the Inter local Agreement, we not only fully paid our obligation, but may have overpaid by around $1,000.
We want to be fair, both in the township’s fire/emergency protection expenses and how they are reported.
