Fire Station

Construction is underway. The schedule calls for “substantial” completion in April, but with good weather we are optimistic we should be in ahead of schedule. We have an album on the web that will track the progress and highlight significant details.

Highlights already include using “bio-swales” for storm water control to allow for water infiltration and reduce sending water downstream for others to worry about. Most of the soils in Boone County are not well suited for traditional septic tanks, and this site is no different. We will be installing an advanced “dosing drip” system which treats effluent to a much higher degree.

In addition to these “eco-friendly” practices many features inside the station are energy efficient so that operation of this 24/7 fire/emergency station will be cost effective for taxpayers while providing first class emergency response.
